Index values can be created automatically at the time of MSDS generation. Special codes are assigned to the template, that are translated into index values (searchable fields) when the MSDS is geneerated using the template.
Indexes are created by selecting Setup>Maintain MSDS Indexes...
Once the index is created, a code is assigned to the template that draws it's information from the Product Maintenance screen.
The codes are assigned by highlighting the template in MSDS Author and selecting Edit>Index Values...
The codes are as follows:
Chemical Name = No reference necessary
Product Name = {{INDEX NAME}
Manufacturer = {{INDEX MANUFACTURER}
Stock Number = {{INDEX STOCKNUMBER}
Stock Numbers in Kit = {{INDEX KITSTOCKNUMBERS}
Index codes can also reference any alphanumeric formulation field.
Index Name = {{Field ID}
For example, Product Use = {{01USE}
Now that these codes are assigned to this template, these values will be generated and added to the index when the MSDS is created.
